(MENAFN) Non-oil exports from Iran’s Alborz province increased by 30% in the first six months of the Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21) compared to last year, provincial officials report. Mohammad Ansari, head of the Industry, Mining, and Trade Department, shared that key export destinations include the UAE, Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Somalia, Kenya, Pakistan, Libya, and Germany.

Alborz governor Mojtaba Abdollahi noted that non-oil exports exceeded $1 billion last year, indicating a positive trend aligned with national statistics. Mohammad Rezvanifar, head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), stated that Iran’s non-oil exports rose by 6.5% in the first half of this year, totaling 70 million tons worth $25.8 billion.

Moreover, Iran exported $23.2 billion in oil and $600 million in technical services, bringing total exports to $49.6 billion. Imports were $32.6 billion, including $2.5 billion in gold, resulting in an overall trade exchange of $82.2 billion. This yielded a negative trade balance of $6.8 billion for non-oil and services, but a positive balance of $17 billion when including oil and services.

The average value of exported goods rose by 3%, reaching $366 per ton. Major export markets for Iranian goods were China ($7.2 billion), Iraq ($5.2 billion), the UAE ($3.4 billion), Turkey ($2.4 billion), Afghanistan ($1.1 billion), Pakistan ($1.0 billion), and India ($900 million).
