(MENAFN) Alborz province in Iran has seen a 30% increase in non-oil exports in the first half of the Iranian calendar year (March 20 – September 21) compared to last year. The main export markets include the UAE, Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Somalia, Kenya, Pakistan, Libya, and Germany.

Governor Mojtaba Abdollahi reported that non-oil exports from the region exceeded USD 1 billion in the previous year, highlighting a national trend of growing non-oil exports. The head of Iran Customs stated that overall non-oil exports rose by 6.5% to 70 million tons worth USD 25.8 billion in the first half of this year.

Additionally, Iran exported USD 23.2 billion in oil and USD 600 million in technical services, totaling USD 49.6 billion in exports. Imports amounted to USD 32.6 billion, including USD 2.5 billion in gold, resulting in a total trade exchange of USD 82.2 billion. This led to a trade deficit of USD 6.8 billion for non-oil products but a surplus of USD 17 billion when including oil.

The average value of exported goods increased by 3% to USD 366 per ton. Key destinations for exports included China (USD 7.2 billion), Iraq (USD 5.2 billion), UAE (USD 3.4 billion), Turkey (USD 2.4 billion), Afghanistan (USD 1.1 billion), Pakistan (USD 1 billion), and India (USD 900 million).
