Singapore to create guidelines for employers on weather risks.

A Manpower Ministry spokesperson told CNA that they will finalise and release the guidelines after consultations with the industry and public.

SINGAPORE: A construction company in Singapore is using several measures to keep its workers safe from harsh weather. They have a misting machine to cool the worksite and storage ponds for rainwater to avoid flooding, which is treated before being drained.

They also use weather monitoring devices that provide early alerts for dangerous conditions like strong winds and thunderstorms, especially important for workers at heights.

“Safety is not just a company priority; it’s a core value for us and our partners,” said Mr. Qian Liangzhong, chairman of China Construction (South Pacific) Development Co Pte Ltd.
