Singapore is creating guidelines for employers on extreme weather

A Manpower Ministry spokesperson told CNA that they will finalise and release the guidelines after consultations with the industry and public.

SINGAPORE: A construction company is using a misting machine, storage ponds, and weather monitoring devices to protect workers from harsh weather conditions.

The misting system cools the work area, while the ponds collect rainwater to prevent flooding. The water is treated before being released into drains.

Weather devices provide early alerts for strong winds and thunderstorms, ensuring safety for workers at heights.

“Safety is not just a priority for us, but a core value,” said Mr. Qian Liangzhong, chairman of China Construction (South Pacific) Development Co Pte Ltd.
