(MENAFN) Alborz province in Iran has seen a 30% increase in non-oil exports during the first half of the Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21) compared to last year. According to Mohammad Ansari, head of the Industry, Mining, and Trade Department, key export markets included the UAE, Iraq, Turkey, and Germany.

Governor Mojtaba Abdollahi stated that non-oil exports from Alborz surpassed $1 billion last year (ending March 19), aligning with national export trends. The head of the Customs Administration, Mohammad Rezvanifar, reported an overall 6.5% rise in Iran’s non-oil exports in the first half of this year, totaling 70 million tons worth $25.8 billion.

During this time, Iran exported $23.2 billion in oil and $600 million in technical services, leading to total exports of $49.6 billion. Imports were $32.6 billion, including $2.5 billion in gold, resulting in an overall trade exchange of $82.2 billion. While non-oil exports had a negative balance of $6.8 billion, the total trade balance was positive at $17 billion when including oil.

The average export value increased by 3% to $366 per ton. Major markets for Iranian goods this year included China ($7.2 billion), Iraq ($5.2 billion), and the UAE ($3.4 billion).
