(MENAFN) Alborz province in Iran has seen a 30% increase in non-oil exports during the first half of the Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21) compared to last year. The director of the province’s Industry, Mining, and Trade Department, Mohammad Ansari, noted that major export markets include the UAE, Iraq, Turkey, and Germany.

Governor Mojtaba Abdollahi reported that the previous year’s non-oil exports surpassed USD1 billion, reflecting a national trend. Iran’s overall non-oil exports grew by 6.5% in the same period, reaching 70 million tons worth USD25.8 billion.

During this time, Iran also exported USD23.2 billion in oil and USD600 million in technical services, totaling USD49.6 billion in exports. Imports hit USD32.6 billion, resulting in a negative balance of USD6.8 billion for non-oil and services, but a positive USD17 billion when including oil.

The average value of exported goods increased by 3%, hitting USD366 per ton. Key destinations for Iranian exports were China (USD7.2 billion), Iraq (USD5.2 billion), and the UAE (USD3.4 billion).
