(MENAFN) Iran’s Agriculture Minister, Gholamreza Nouri Ghezelcheh, stressed the need to boost economic ties with Tanzania during a meeting with Tanzanian Deputy Foreign Minister, Dennis Lazaro Londo. Ghezelcheh attended the fifth Joint Economic Committee meeting in Tanzania and emphasized their shared cultural interests as a base for deeper cooperation.

This meeting was the first joint committee session under the new Iranian government, showcasing Iran’s dedication to strengthening relations with Tanzania. Lazaro Londo was hopeful that the visit of the Iranian delegation would enhance communication and collaboration between the two countries.

Additionally, Iranian and Tanzanian tax officials signed a draft agreement to eliminate double taxation and prevent tax evasion. This agreement, signed by Hossein Abdollahi of Iran and William M. Moja of Tanzania’s Ministry of Finance, aims to attract investment, improve economic relations, and establish tax cooperation. Final signing and legislative approval are expected soon, paving the way for better economic collaboration and transparency in tax matters.
