China’s economy grew by 4.8% from January to September 2024, with a GDP of 94.97 trillion yuan (approximately $13.32 trillion). The agricultural sector increased by 3.4%, industry by 5.4%, and the service sector by 4.7%. In the third quarter, growth was 4.6%, slightly down from the previous quarter.
The Chinese government is exploring new strategies to boost national development amid global market instability, focusing on stimulating domestic consumption and minimizing financial risks. China remains a leading global economy, contributing about 30% to global GDP growth.
In 2022, China’s GDP growth was 3%, increasing to 5.2% in 2023. The growth target for 2024 is set at 5%.
