Nashville, TN, Oct. 21, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – A new report from Ramsey Solutions shows that 78% of adults are worried about the economy, with millennials (ages 27-42) the most concerned at 83%. This survey was conducted just weeks before the presidential election.

Many Americans feel the pressures of rising costs; 37% say their finances are worse than four years ago, while only 29% feel better off. Over half (52%) think the presidency significantly impacts their finances.

Dave Ramsey, a personal finance expert, emphasizes the importance of voting but reminds people that managing their household budgets is crucial for financial success. Less than half of Americans believe a written budget is essential.

Other highlights of the survey include:

  • 1 in 3 Americans plan to use credit cards for Christmas expenses.
  • 49% have trouble paying bills, especially Gen Z at 69%.
  • 34% have at least $10,000 in consumer debt.
  • Only 10% invest 15% or more of their income.
